To recognize dogs that work alongside California farmers and ranchers, the California Farm Bureau is hosting its annual Farm Dog of the Year Contest in collaboration with heritage partner Nationwide. Entries will be accepted through June 27.
Open to Farm Bureau members in California, the contest asks farmers and ranchers to submit up to four photos and a brief story about their dog. The Grand Prize winner earns $1,000; the first runner-up receives $500, with $250 for the second runner-up and $100 for the third runner-up.
In the story submitted with the entry, farmers and ranchers have an opportunity to describe how their dog enriches their lives while supporting them in doing their jobs. Entrants may list any special skills their dog has, tricks it can perform and nonfarm-work activities the dog and its owners enjoy. Learn more at www.cfbf.com/farmdogcontest.
